Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using HSA Receipt Tracker (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What the Service does

HSA Receipt Tracker lets you upload receipts, or connect Gmail or Outlook so the app can find receipts in your email, and then uses AI to extract details such as dates, provider, amount, and category. It backs up your receipt files to your own Google Drive and helps you track which expenses you have reimbursed. The Service is provided free of charge and may change or add features over time.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement. Access may be limited to authorized accounts. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity that happens under your account. Sign in only with accounts you own or are authorized to use.

4. Connected accounts and permissions

When you connect Google or Microsoft, you grant HSA Receipt Tracker the specific, limited permissions described at the consent screen and in our Privacy Policy — read-only email access and, for Google Drive, access limited to files the app creates. You can revoke these permissions at any time through your Google or Microsoft account settings, or by disconnecting within the app. Doing so may stop related features from working.

5. Your content and ownership

You keep all rights to your receipts, documents, and the data extracted from them (“Your Content”). You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the Service for you — to process, store, categorize, and back up Your Content as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of Your Content and do not use it to train AI models.

6. AI accuracy — no guarantees

The Service relies on automated AI parsing, which is powerful but not perfect. Extracted dates, amounts, categories, and eligibility flags may be wrong, incomplete, or missed entirely. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying every claim before you rely on it. HSA Receipt Tracker does not guarantee that it will find all of your receipts or extract them correctly.

7. Not financial, tax, medical, or legal advice

HSA Receipt Tracker is a recordkeeping tool. Nothing it produces — including eligibility flags or category suggestions — is professional advice. Whether an expense is HSA-eligible, and how to report it, is your responsibility. Confirm with your HSA custodian, plan documents, and a qualified tax or medical professional. We are not affiliated with the IRS, any HSA custodian, or any health plan.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for anything unlawful, or to store or process data you have no right to access.
• Attempt to break, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users’ data.
• Interfere with the Service’s security or with the connected accounts of others.

9. Household sharing

If you invite or join a household, you understand that receipt data is shared among the linked members. Only share with people you trust with this information, and only invite those who have agreed to participate.

10. Third-party services

The Service works with third-party providers including Google, Microsoft, and AI providers (Anthropic, Google, or MiniMax). Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their availability can affect the Service.

11. Service availability and changes

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Because your document backups live in your own Google Drive, you retain your original files even if the Service becomes unavailable.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or that AI output will be accurate.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HSA Receipt Tracker and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost tax benefits, denied reimbursements, or lost data, arising from your use of the Service. The Service is a convenience tool, not a substitute for your own recordkeeping and professional advice.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or to protect the Service or its users. On termination, your structured data may be deleted; your Google Drive backups remain yours.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.
